The pricing page is the live source of truth if these numbers ever differ.
Every limit on a project comes from the project owner's plan, whoever is looking at it and whatever plan they are on themselves.
Enterprise is set up by hand rather than through checkout. It lifts the caps, adds a custom accent color for the capture control in your app, and comes with a direct support channel. Use the support form to arrange one.
What happens when you go over
Most caps do not block anything. Nothing a reviewer sends is ever thrown away because of a limit:
- Captures per month. Over-cap captures are still saved. Their media is covered by an upgrade prompt in the gallery until you upgrade or your usage falls back under the limit. Nothing is lost in the meantime.
- Teammates and reviewers. The invite control goes inert at the cap, and reviewers cannot enroll past it. Existing people are unaffected.
- Projects. You cannot create another until you are back under the limit.
Storage is the exception, and it is a hard stop. Once the total storage across every project you own reaches your plan's limit, new captures are refused at the point they are sent, and reviewers will see them fail. Your account page shows storage used against your cap. Archiving does not reclaim storage; only deletion and expiry do.
Retention and expiry
Captures are kept for the window your plan allows: 15 days on Free, 30 days on Starter, 365 days on Pro. Enterprise is set by contract.
When a capture reaches the end of that window it disappears from the gallery, but its files are held for a further 30-day grace period. Two things follow from that:
- Upgrade within the grace period and the aged-out captures come back automatically.
- Export within the grace period and you keep a copy. Export project data in the project's gear menu includes anything still in grace.
After the grace period, deletion is permanent.
Archiving a capture is a tidying action and has no effect on any of this: an archived capture ages out on the same schedule as a live one.
Project owners get a warning at the top of the project page and on their dashboard when captures are within three days of expiring, and a stronger one inside 24 hours. Both point at the export. See Managing captures for what each state says.
Billing
Paid plans go through Stripe Checkout. Once you are subscribed, Manage billing on your account page opens Stripe's own customer portal, where you change your plan, update your card, download invoices, and cancel. Before you have a subscription the same slot reads View plans to upgrade and sends you to the pricing page.
Cancelling takes effect the way the portal describes, which is usually at the end of the period you have already paid for.
If a renewal payment fails, the account drops to Free immediately. There is no retry grace period at the moment. Nothing is deleted: your projects and captures stay, and anything now over the Free limits sits behind an upgrade prompt until you fix the payment or your usage fits under Free.
Only the account owner can see or change billing. Teammates and managers cannot, even on a project they run.
Your account
The account page holds:
- Profile. The email you signed in with, your display name, your timezone, and Sign out. The timezone drives every date and time the app shows you, so set it if the dates look a day out.
- Plan. Your current plan, what it entitles you to, your captures this month and storage used against their caps, and the single billing control.
- Delete account, on its own beneath both cards.
Deleting your account
Delete account is a quiet red text link rather than a filled button, so look for the words rather than for a big red rectangle. Choose it and type your email address to confirm.
You must cancel any paid subscription first. The delete is blocked while a paid plan is active, so that you end billing deliberately through the portal rather than having deletion quietly do it for you.
Deleting removes every project you own and everything in those projects, permanently. It also removes you from projects where you were only a teammate, which leaves those projects otherwise untouched.
Where to go for help
- The support form, which reaches us directly.
- The FAQ on the support page, for the questions that come up most.
- Send product feedback if it is not a problem so much as a thing Hot Takes should do next.
- The other guides, listed on All guides.
When you write in about a specific capture or project, the project name and roughly when it happened are usually enough for us to find it.
