For reviewers

Enrolling (first time only)

Open the prototype and find the floating Hot Takes pill (some projects use a shake gesture instead; see below). Tap it, and the first time you'll:

1. Enter your email address (a quick terms notice sits right under this step).
2. Enter the 6-digit code we email you.
3. Set a display name (how your feedback is attributed to the team), or skip this step.

That's it: no password, no account. A short welcome email confirms you're set, and your device is remembered afterward, so you go straight to capturing next time.

Change your name

Your display name is set once during enrollment, but you can change it anytime. Trigger a capture (tap the pill or shake) to open the capture sheet, then tap the small gear icon next to your name at the top. On the “Update name” card, type a new name and tap Save, or tap Cancel to leave it as is. Either way you land back on the capture sheet, now showing your updated name.

Finding the capture trigger

Most projects show a small floating pill you can drag around the screen and tap to start a capture. If the designer set the project up for demo day, it may instead be a shake gesture: just shake the device to bring up the capture options.

Taking a screenshot capture

Trigger a capture (tap the pill or shake) and a sheet pops up: Capture screenshot or Record a video. Choosing the screenshot snapshots the current screen and opens it for markup:

1. Draw with the pen, or switch to the shape tool for an arrow or a rectangle to point at things; pick a color from the swatch. Tap a stroke you drew to select and delete it if you overshoot.
2. Tap Next.
3. On “Add a note”, optionally type what the team should look at, then Send. The back arrow returns to your markup without sending if you're not ready.

Recording your screen

Choosing Record a video from the same sheet starts recording immediately: there's no countdown. The pill turns into a red elapsed-time chip.

1. Everything visible on the prototype's screen is recorded, along with your microphone the whole time, so narrate as you go: your voice is mixed straight into the video.
2. Tap the chip when you're done to stop.
3. Preview the recording before you send, and optionally add a note.

What gets sent, and to whom

Your captures go to the project team (the people who invited you), not the public. Basic device and app context (device model, OS version, app version) is attached automatically so the team can reproduce what you saw. You won't see other reviewers' feedback, and there's no gallery on your side: the tool is submit-only.

Privacy basics

During a screen recording your microphone is live the whole time and your voice is recorded into the video. If you'd rather not be heard, use a screenshot with a typed note instead, or stay silent while recording. The Privacy Policy has the full picture of what's collected.

Being removed from a project

The project owner can remove you from a project. If that happens, your device's access to that project ends: you won't be able to submit new captures there. It doesn't affect any other project you review.

Common issues

• Record a video is dimmed in the sheet: screen recording needs a real device (it isn't available in the iOS Simulator) and microphone access; the sheet shows the reason inline. Capture screenshot always works.
• Send appears stuck: if you're offline, captures are held and retried automatically once you reconnect; nothing is lost.
• Didn't get the code email: check your spam folder. If you request codes repeatedly in a short window you may be briefly rate-limited: wait a bit and try again.
